The Living Room

The garden as a room.

Start with a room

Don't design a patio. Design an outdoor room. Think about where you'll drink your morning coffee, eat with friends, read a book or simply sit and watch the birds. Once the room works for people, the planting can wrap around it.

Blur the Boundaries

The best gardens don't stop at the back door. Use planting, containers, lighting and natural materials to soften the transition between house and garden, creating one connected space that feels inviting in every season.
